Bridge Dedication to Honor Area Veteran, Sgt. Paul M. Brown

WHAT: The Route 872 bridge over Bailey Run in Wharton Township, Potter County, will be officially dedicated as the Sgt. Paul M. Brown Memorial Bridge. Brown lost his life during combat operations in South Korea on March 2, 1951, during his second tour of duty in service to his country. He had also served in World War II.

WHO: Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint); Mrs. Gloria (Brown) Bailey, great niece of Sgt. Brown; William “Bill” Simpson, director, Potter County Director of Veterans Affairs; Paul Heimel, vice chairman, National Veteran and Military Service Committee and Potter County commissioner; and area veterans and citizens.

WHEN: Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: At the Route 872 bridge.
