: The House and Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs committees will hold a joint informational meeting to discuss dangerous livestock disease threats and the importance of biosecurity/efforts to keep the food supply secure.
: Members of both committees, including majority chairmen Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) and Sen. Elder Vogel (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence). Making presentations before the committee will be Russell C. Redding, secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture; Dr. Richard Roush, dean, College of Agricultural Sciences, The Pennsylvania State University; Kevin Brightbill, DVM, state veterinarian and director, Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services, PA Department of Agriculture; and Ernest Hovingh, DVM, Ph.D., Veterinary Extension, Field Investigation and Research, Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences, The Pennsylvania State University.
