Causer, Friends’ Memorial Library to Host REAL ID Seminar March 25

March 6, 2020

KANE – Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) is teaming up with Friends’ Memorial Library in Kane to host a REAL ID information seminar on Wednesday, March 25, at 2 p.m. The library is located at 230 Chase St., Kane.

A PennDOT representative will be on hand to discuss required documentation and costs for people who wish to obtain a REAL ID. Jill Grosch of Causer’s Kane office will also be on hand to assist residents with birth certificate applications, as one of the required REAL ID documents is a birth certificate with a raised seal.

Under state law, REAL ID is optional for drivers and residents obtaining non-driver IDs. However, beginning this October, federal law will require REAL-ID compliant identification for people to board domestic flights or visit a secure federal building that requires ID at the door. Pennsylvania’s REAL ID will meet that standard, as will a U.S. passport or passport card, or a military ID.
