Bridge Dedication to Honor Master Sgt. Thomas Maholic

WHAT: The Route 770 bridge over Tunungwant Creek in Bradford Township, McKean County, will be officially dedicated as the Master Sgt. Thomas Maholic Memorial Bridge. Maholic lost his life during combat operations in Ghecko, Afghanistan, when his patrol unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire during a cordon and search mission.

WHO: Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint); Maholic’s family members, including sister Ann Tofil, who will speak during the ceremony; Bill Hurrle, commander, and members of American Legion Post 108 in Bradford; and area officials, veterans and members of the community.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: At the bridge on Route 770 (Minard Run Road), near the intersection with Route 219.

PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons, Minard Run Road will be closed between the Route 219 intersection and High Street intersection during the ceremony, from 10-11 a.m.
