Causer Announces Grants for Coudersport, Kane
HARRISBURG – Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) today announced two community recreation grants that will be used to help rehabilitate the Coudersport Community Pool and Kane’s Glenwood Park.
“These grants are important investments, not just in the facilities themselves but in the people who make use of the recreational opportunities they provide,” Causer said. “The pool and the park bring people together and strengthen our communities.”
Coudersport Borough will receive $250,000 for the rehabilitation of its community pool. Work will include renovation of the main pool and bathhouse; construction of zero depth entry and concrete decking, installation of a filtration and recirculation system, ADA access and more.
Kane Borough will receive $92,800 for the rehabilitation of Glenwood Park. Work will include renovation of the skate park surface, construction of a parking area, installation of skate park equipment and fencing, ADA access, landscaping and more.
Each grant requires a 50 percent local match by the community.
The grants were awarded through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program operated by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. They are specifically funded by the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund, which is supported by a portion of the state’s realty transfer tax.
